Eagle Pass Eagles Cross-Country Boys Team finishes 9th Place at State Meet, Lady Eagle Jezabelle Rodriguez finishes 75th

Eagle Pass High School Eagles and Lady Eagles Cross-Country Team Head Coach Juan Gonzalez announced that the Eagles Boys Team finished in Ninth Place at the 2014 Texas High School Cross-Country Class 6A Meet while Lady Eagle Jezabelle Rodriguez finished in 75th place individually at the state meet held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock, Texas, capping a successful 2014 Cross-Country season.
The Eagles Boys Cross-Country Team competed for the fifth consecutive year at the state Cross-Country Meet and finished a strong ninth place with Hector Alvarez leading the Eagles with a time of 16:09 minutes and a 22nd individual finish followed by Victor Garcia with a time of 16:35 minutes and a 55th individual finish, Javier Guevara with a time of 16:53 minutes and a 72nd individual finish, Martin Lopez with a time of 16:55 minutes and a 75th individual finish, Bennie Rodriguez with a time of 17:29 minutes and a 113th individual finish, Ryan Rodriguez with a time of 17:45 minutes and a 129th individual finish, and Nathan Kowalski with a time of 18:02 with a 136th individual finish.
Lady Eagles Girls Cross-Country runner Jezabelle Rodriguez finished with a time of 19:53 minutes and in 75th individual place as the lone Lady Eagle to qualify at the state meet.
The 2014 Texas High School Cross-Country Class 6A Boys state champion was the Southlake Carroll Dragons followed by The Woodlands in second place, The Woodlands College Park in third place, Katy Seven Lakes in fourth place, El Paso Eastwood in fifth place, Keller Timber Creek in sixth place, New Braunfels Canyon in seventh place, Flower Mound Marcus in eighth place, Eagle Pass Eagles in ninth place, and Houston Strake Jesuit in tenth place. District 29-6A rival Del Rio Rams finished in 14th place.
The Eagle Pass Eagles Boys Cross-Country Team won the 2014 District 29-6A Championship and placed second in Region IV before competing at the state meet.
