Maverick County Public Corruption Defendants to be sentenced in February 2015

At least 13 Defendants who were indicted and arrested by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Texas Rangers joint investigation of public corruption, bribery, bid-rigging, and illegal kick-backs in Maverick County and who subsequently plead guilty face sentencing hearings in February 2015 before U.S. District Judge Alia Moses for the Western District of Texas, Del Rio Division, in Del Rio, Texas.
The joint FBI and Texas Rangers investigation of corruption in Maverick County during 2009 through 2012 nabbed over 28 defendants, which all plead guilty except one which was dismissed.
Scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in February 2015 are three former Maverick County Commissioners including Rodolfo Bainet “Rudy” Heredia of Precinct 2, Eliaz Maldonado of Precinct 1, and Cesar Flores of Precinct 4. Rudy Heredia is scheduled to be sentenced sometime in February 2015 while Eliaz Maldonado is scheduled to be sentenced on February 26, 2015 at 10:20 A.M. and Cesar Flores is scheduled for February 23, 2015 at 2 P.M.
Also scheduled for sentencing include Saul Lombrana on February 25, 2015 at 10:30 A.M.; Jaime Flores on February 24, 2015 at 2 P.M.; Joe M. Rodriguez on February 24, 2015 at 3 P.M.; Eduardo Rene Rodriguez on February 24, 2015 at 10 A..M.; Javier Gonzalez on February 26, 2015 at 11 A.M.; Eduardo De La Garza on February 24, 2015 at 11 A.M.; Jose Telles, Jr. on February 25, 2015 at 2 P.M.; Hector Daniel Chavez, Jr. on February 26, 2015 at 2 P.M.; and German Garcia Cano on February 26, 2015 at 3 P.M.
Other defendants have already been sentenced during 2013 and 2014.
