Veterans Day Ceremony to be celebrated Tuesday, November 11th

Maverick County will celebrate the 2014 Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 11 A.M. in a solemn and beautiful ceremony hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8562 at the Maverick County Lake Veterans Memorial Park, announced Ruben R. Salazar, Senior Vice-Commander of VFW Post 8562.
Scheduled to participate in the November 11th Veterans Day Ceremony include the C. C. Winn High School Thundering Mavericks Band, the 92nd Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets, the Girl Scouts of South Texas, local singer Jessica Cavazos, the VFW Firing Squad, VFW Post Chaplain Rogelio Reyna, VFW Bugler Sammy Lerma, Rafael Chancey, VFW Assistant Chaplain Esteban Salas, VFW Service Officer Gary Sapoff, and others.
The keynote speaker is Mr. Geraldo Hinojo of the United States Border Patrol, a US Veteran himself.
All United States Veterans and their families from the United States and Mexico are invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony. All local elected and appointed public officials in Maverick County are also invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony.
The 2014 Veterans Day Ceremony is open to the public and is a family-oriented event.
