12 Eagle Pass Eagles named to 2014 District 29-6A All-District Football Team

A total of 12 Eagle Pass High School Eagles were named to the 2014 District 29-6A All-District Football Team, announced Eagles Head Football Coach Tom Gonzalez.
For the first time in many years, no Eagles football player was named to one of the top Most Valuable Player or First Team All-District selection. However, 12 Eagles did receive All-District football honors in the Second Team Offensive and Defensive Teams and Honorable Mention Team.
Named to the 2014 District 29-6A All-District Second Team Offense are standout quarterback Ty Chisum, offensive tackle Jovan Garza, offensive guard Iram Gaytan, wide receiver Joseph Barrientos, and wide receiver Memo Hernandez.
Named to the 2014 District 29-6A All-District Second Team Defense are standout outside linebacker R. J. Valdez, inside linebacker Saul Garcia, defensive end Luis Mendez, and defensive cornerback Ty Chisum. Chisum received Second Team honors in both Offense and Defense.
Receiving 2014 District 29-6A All-District Honorable Mention honors are running back Mark Venegas, defensive cornerback DeShawn Franklin, defensive safety Jesse Ray Mata, offensive tackle Eddie Maldonado, and punter Ty Chisum.
Named as the 2014 District 29-6A Offensive Most Valuable Player is Eric Corona of Laredo United Longhorns while the Defensive Co-Most Valuable Players areTony Luna of Laredo LBJ Wolves and Jose Fuentes of Laredo United Longhorns. The 2014 District 29-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year is wide receiver David Sanchez, II, of Laredo United Longhorns while the Defensive Newcomer of the Year is Michael Castillo of Laredo United Longhorns.
The 2014 District 29-6A Coaches of the Year are Oki Villasenor of the Laredo LBJ Wolves and David Sanchez of the Laredo United Longhorns.
Named to the 2014 District 29-6A All-District First Team Offense are quarterback Aaron Swain of Laredo Alexander Bulldogs, running backs Juan Cisneros of Laredo LBJ Wolves (unanimous) and Isidro Alaniz, Jr. of Laredo United Longhorns, fullback Jesus Orozco of Laredo LBJ Wolves, wide receivers Travis Allen of Laredo Alexander (unanimous) Chris Cabello of Laredo United South Panthers (unanimous), and Shane Creamer of Del Rio Rams, slot receivers Jordan Herrera of Laredo United Longhorns, Ivan Santos of Laredo United South Panthers, and Webb Ashley of Del Rio Rams, tight end Norman Madrigal of Laredo LBJ Wolves (unanimous), tackles Oscar Vela of Laredo United (unanimous) and Erik Gonzalez of Laredo LBJ Wolves, guards Max Ramos of Laredo LBJ Wolves and Felipe Elizondo of Laredo United Longhorns, center Jorge Martinez of Laredo United Longhorns, punter Braxton Bradley of Del Rio Rams, and place kicker Mario Garcia of Laredo Alexander Bulldogs.
