Head-On Collision on U.S. Highway 83 in Dimmit County injures four persons

Another automobile accident in the Eagle Ford Shale region involving three pick-up trucks along U.S. Highway 83 in Dimmit County between Carrizo Springs and Asherton, Texas resulted in four persons injured, with two seriously hurt requiring they be flown by helicopter to San Antonio, Texas, medical facilities for medical treatment on Thursday, December 11, 2014, announced the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Department.

Two of the three pick-up trucks collided head-on on U.S. Highway 83 near Asherton, Texas while the third pick-up was unable to stop to avoid the head-on collision between the first two trucks and impacted the one of the two pick-ups.

The Dimmit County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene and began investigating the accident. The Texas Department of Public Safety also arrived and took over the investigation of the three vehicle accident. The investigation continues by the Texas DPS troopers.
