Rep. Poncho Nevárez Takes Oath of Office for 84th Legislature

Austin, TX — State Representative Poncho Nevárez was officially sworn in yesterday as the Texas Legislature convened for its 84th regular session, which runs until June 1st. Following the oath of office ceremony, the Honorable Joe Straus was re-elected Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.

“Surrounded by my family and close friends, I was humbled to take the oath of office for my second term in the House of Representatives,” Nevárez stated. “I feel honored to continue to represent the great people of House District 74 and look forward to another eventful and productive session working with Speaker Straus.”

Nevárez represents House District 74 spanning twelve counties including Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Kinney, Loving, Maverick, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell and Val Verde.
