San Antonio Fugitive escapes into Mexico and kills two and wounds two others

A San Antonio fugitive, Ignacio Ruiz, age 37, who was wanted for murder and shooting another person on January 1, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas, escaped U.S. law enforcement authorities and fled into Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico where he went on a shooting spree killing a taxi cab driver and a Piedras Negras municipal police officer and critically injuring two women at a busy plaza in the U.S.-Mexico border city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, opposite of Eagle Pass, Texas, on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
Ignacio Ruiz fled together with a female companion on the taxi cab after a shoot out with Piedras Negras police officers, but was later captured by Piedras Negras law enforcement authorities and arrested.
Taxi cab driver, Felipe Navarrete Lopez, suffered four gunshot wounds by Ruiz and succumbed to his fatal gunshot wounds at the Dr. Salvador Chavarria Hospital in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, at approximately 8 P.M. on Saturday, January 3rd.
Piedras Negras Muncipal Police Officer, Jaime Antonio Sornia de Luna, also received multiple gunshot wounds from Ruiz and was transported to a Saltillo, Coahuila hospital, where he died from the gunshot wounds.
Two females also were wounded by Ruiz during his shooting spree and transported to a Piedras Negras, Coahuila hospital for treatment.
Ruiz will be charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault by Piedras Negras, Coahuila law enforcement authorities.
Ruiz’s female companion, Yanel Cerda, was detained for investigation, but was later released by Mexican law enforcement authorities absolving her from any responsibility of Ruiz’s shooting rampage in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.
