2015 Maverick County Jr. Livestock Show Sale benefits over 160 Exhibitors

The 2015 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale benefitted over 160 local 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) youth exhibitors on Saturday, January 31, 2015, closing the festivities of the four day annual event.
Over 50 local and out-of-town businesses and individuals registered as buyers in the 2015 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale.
The 2015 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale got off to a Big Bang with the sale of Carlos Rodriguez, Jr.’s Grand Champion Market Steer for a whopping $15,500 by Ancira Automotive Group of Eagle Pass, followed by the sale of Jimena Molina’s Grand Champion Market Goat for $6,500 by a combined buyer group including Patrick Leonard, Jonathan Mauer, Bernard Mauer, Liberty Elementary, Texas Farm Bureau, and others, followed by the sale of Zacarias Molina’s Grand Champion Market Lamb for $5,500 by H.E.B., and the sale of Sairah Gonzalez’s Grand Champion Market Hog for a robust $14,500 by Dos Republicas Coal Partnership and Camino Real Fuels, Inc.
The Reserve Champion Market Steer exhibited by Tonya Rodriguez sold for $6,000 to Ancira Automotive Group of Eagle Pass, the Reserve Champion Market Goat shown by Anahi Molina sold for $5,000 to Aguila Construction, the Reserve Champion Market Lamb exhibited by Gerardo Molina sold for $4,000 to IBC Bank of Eagle Pass, and the Reserve Champion Market Hog shown by Amanda Alvar sold for $4,500 to Minit Mart Convenience Stores and Lighting
The Division Champion Goat exhibited by Delaney Esquivel sold for $3,000 to Anadarko, the Breed Champion Crossbred Goat shown by Linda Molina sold for $3,500 to The Herring Firm, Mark Rodriguez, and Lee & Associates, the Breed Champion Finewool Lamb exhibited by Roberto Martinez, Jr. sold for $3,000 to Minit Mart Convenience Stores and Lighting, the Breed Champion Dorper Lamb shown by Kiana Esquivel sold for $2,500 to H.E.B., the Breed Champion Yorkshire Hog exhibited by Marcus Cisneros sold for $2,600 to the Nevarez Law Group, the Breed Champion Duroc Hog shown by Ryan Cisneros sold for $1,800 to Walmart, the Breed Champion Dark Cross Hog shown by Isaac Cardona sold for $1,700 to Knickerbocker, Heredia, Jasso, & Stewart, and the Reserve Breed Light Cross Hog exhibited by Pablo De La Garza sold for $1,700 to Comanche Ranches.
Auctioneer for the 2015 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale was Oscar San Miguel of Del Rio, Texas, the Ringmen were Britt Davis and Tim Hardt, and the Announcer was Mike Castillo.
The annual event was sponsored by the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association. The Board of Directors include President Tim Hardt, Vice-President Armando De La Cruz, Secretary Rosie Willars, Treasurer David Rodriguez, First Member Alma Laura Chapa, Second Member Aleida Castillo, and Third Member Sandra Rodriguez.
The 2015 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale was a great success.
