Eagle Pass City Council Election for May 9th Now Accepting Candidate Applications

The City of Eagle Pass City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez announced that persons interested in running for one of the two City Council Places on the May 9, 2015 City Council Election may pick-up their candidate application and register with the City Secretary’s Office between January 28th through February 27, 2015 at City Hall, located at 100 South Monroe Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The City of Eagle Pass City Council Election on Saturday, May 9, 2015, will have two places for election, specifically Place 1 currently held by City Councilwoman Gloria E. Hernandez and Place 3 currently held by City Councilman William “Billy” Davis.
Both Hernandez and Davis are expected to register for re-election in the immediate future.
The requirements for an individual to register and run for the Eagle Pass City Council include that the person be at least 18 years of age, be a United States Citizen, be a resident of the City of Eagle Pass for at least six months and of the State of Texas for at least 12 months, not have been convicted of a felony criminal offense and not have had their felony conviction pardoned and civil rights re-established by another official action, not have been declared mentally incompetent, and any other requirements established by law.
