Eagle Pass Woman and Common Law Husband killed in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico

An Eagle Pass woman, Diana Alvarado Rodriguez, age 62, and her Mexican common law husband, Cuauhtemoc Juan de Dios Gomez Martinez, age 55, were killed by several gunshot wounds to their heads and bodies at their residence in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
Alvarado was a well-known citizen in Eagle Pass with a long family history in Eagle Pass. Family and friends were saddened of the demise of Alvarado and her Mexican common law husband.
The case is under investigation by the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (Procuraduria General de la Republica).
Alvarado and Gomez’s assailants are unknown.
Alvarado almost daily visited Eagle Pass as she owned a home here as well. It is not uncommon for Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila residents to own homes in both cities and go back and forth to transact personal business and visit family members on the U.S.-Mexico border.
