Eagle Passan Christian Garcia earns 2014 Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention Honors in Football

Texas A & M University at Kingsville Javelinas Head Football Coach Daren Wilkinson announced that Eagle Passan Christian Garcia, a three year varsity football letterman with the fighting Javelinas, was named a 2014 Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention selection by the Head Football Coaches of the Lone Star Conference.
Christian Garcia earns for the second consecutive year Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention honors in Football in 2014 as an Offensive Center. In 2013, Garcia earned conference Honorable Mention status as an Offensive Guard.
Garcia is a bruising 6 feet, 5 inches 320 pounds offensive lineman whom opposing players and coaches fear and respect on the gridiron. He started in all of TAMUK’s games this season and overall has 24 starts as an offensive lineman during his three year career with the Javelinas, including all games during his junior and sophomore seasons.
Garcia also competes for the TAMUK Javelinas in Track and Field as a Shot Putter and Discus Thrower. Last season he was an integral member of the TAMUK Javelinas’ Lone Star Conference Track and Field Championship Team. He will be competing again this Spring in Track and Field for the blue and gold Javelinas.
He is a graduate of Eagle Pass High School, where he played four years of varsity football and track and field for the burnt orange and white Eagles.
In 2011, Garcia was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in District 29-5A by the district’s head football coaches. He also was named to the Texas 5A All-State Academic Team in 2011 as well as earned First Team All-District Honors as an Offensive Lineman during his sophomore and junior high school seasons.
Garcia also earned All-State, All-Regional, and All-District in Track and Field in Shot Put and also competed in Discus Throwing. He is best recognized for holding the City of Eagle Pass, Eagle Pass Independent School District, and Eagle Pass High School Shot Put Throw record of 54 feet and one inch during his senior season in 2011.
Garcia is a junior at TAMUK and is majoring in Kinesiology and is the son of Luis and Yolanda Garcia of Eagle Pass, Texas.
