Eagle Passan Sentenced to 25 Years for Murder of Girlfriend

Eagle Passan Jaime Jimenez, age 38, received a 25 year sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Jessica Lenora Colecio, age 37, by Visiting District Judge Paul Canales of San Antonio, Texas in Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas on Thursday, February 5, 2015, announced 293rd Judicial District Attorney Roberto Serna. 293rd Judicial District Judge Cynthia Muniz approved a plea agreement between Jimenez and the State of Texas in October 2014.
Jimenez stabbed his girlfriend to death with a knife at his residence located at 1670 Bryan Street in Eagle Pass on December 6, 2013 during the early morning hours. According to the investigation, Jimenez stabbed Colecio multiple times on the chest with a knife. Colecio’s body was found on top of a mattress inside a bedroom in Jimenez’s residence.
District Attorney Roberto Serna stated that “the conviction was made possible by the thorough investigation conducted by the Eagle Pass Police Department and the Texas Rangers Service.”
Jimenez is a member of the Kickapoo Tribe.
The incident occurred outside the Kickapoo Tribal Reservation within the city limits of Eagle Pass.
District Attorney Serna noted the outstanding prosecuting skills of Assistant District Attorney Alberto Rodriguez and the investigative efforts of District Attorney Chief Investigator Eloy Garcia were instrumental in the conviction of Jimenez.
District Attorney Serna pledged to the citizens of Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala Counties that his office and staff will prosecute vigorously violent criminals and domestic violence cases.
