Sexual Assault Fugitive Nabbed in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico

District Attorney Roberto Serna announced that Juan Ramon Medrano, Jr., who had been a fugitive from justice after he fled to Mexico, was taken into custody on March 2, 2015. In December of 2011, Assistant District Attorneys Robert Little and Alberto Rodriguez represented the State in which Medrano was found guilty by a Maverick County jury of one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault and sentenced by the jury to 55 years in the penitentiary. DA Serna would like to thank the United States Marshals Office for their cooperation and assistance in bringing Juan Ramon Medrano, Jr., to justice.
District Attorney Serna further stated that the Office of the District Attorney presented numerous cases to the grand jury in Maverick County for indictment this past Monday, March 2, 2015.
D.A. Serna also stated that on March 2, 2015, in Maverick County, Texas, Michael Jimenez, was sentenced to 10 years confinement in the penitentiary for the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine. Further, on March 3, 2015, in Zavala County, Texas, Carlos Enrique Garcia was sentenced to 10 years confinement in the penitentiary for the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine.
