Eagle Pass Independent School District Student passes away

Eagle Pass Independent School District student, Michael Sanchez, age 11, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at a San Antonio, Texas hospital after sustaining an emergency medical-related incident at Glass Elementary on Friday, April 24, 2015, and being airlifted to the San Antonio medical facility. According to information, the emergency may have been related to cardiology-related health issues.

According to a press release from the Eagle Pass Independent School District, “A student of our District suffered a medical emergency on Friday, April 24, 2015. The student was found unresponsive by staff and emergency first aid was administered by a school nurse. The student regained life signs and was transferred by emergency medical personnel to the hospital. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.”

The young student succumbed to his illness on Tuesday, April 28th, at a San Antonio medical facility. An autopsy was ordered on the young boy and following the autopsy funeral arrangements will be scheduled by the family.
