Two Workers Fall from Crane at Amistad Dam and presumed dead

Two workers on a crane cleaning Amistad Dam’s doors fell into the water as the crane buckled and tossed them into the deep waters of the reservoir on the United States side of this key U.S.-Mexico water reservoir near Del Rio, Texas on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at approximately 12 Noon.

A short press release from the U.S.-Mexico International Water Boundary Commission stated that the two men are presumed to be dead and their bodies have not yet been recovered.

An investigation has been launched to determine how this tragic accident occurred
