Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 9:55pm:  An officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to the Camino Real Port of Entry in reference to a wanted person. An outstanding warrant emanating from the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was confirmed for 27 year old Benjamin Mendez.

Mendez had an outstanding parole violation warrant with no bond to be issued and is a suspect in an aggravated sexual assault case with the Eagle Pass Police Department. Mendez was taken before a magistrate on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 and formally charged on two (2) counts of aggravated assault and issued two (2) seventy five thousand ($75,000) dollars bonds totaling one hundred fifty thousand ($150,00)  dollars in bonds. Mendez was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of the bonds issued.
