Community ‘Peace With Purple Vigil’ in remembrance of Domestic Violence Victims & Survivors to be held October 21st at Maverick County Lake

The Quad Counties Council New Horizons Outreach Program is hosting the First Annual Peace With Purple Vigil in remembrance of all Domestic Violence victims and survivors on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 7 P.M. at the Maverick County Lake Pavilion in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Perla Vela, Program Coordinator.
Since October 2015 has been officially designated as National Domestic Awareness Month in the United States by President Barack Obama, Quad Counties Council New Horizons Outreach Program decided to honor and remember those people who lost their lives as vicitms of Domestic Violence as well as the survivors of Domestic Violence in Eagle Pass and Maverick County, Texas.
The Peace With Purple Vigil is open to the public and admission is free. All participants are invited to wear a purple shirt or blouse, if possible.
The purpose of the Peace With Purple Vigil is to bring awareness to the community of the serious problem Domestic Violence is in Maverick County and to remember the victims and survivors of Domestic Violence in Maverick County.
Maverick County Lake will be covered with lighted candles throughout in memory and honor of all Domestic Violence victims and survivors.
Local dignitaries and vicitms of Domestic Violence will address the public to advise them of the need for their assistance to recognize, report, and prevent Domestic Violence in the community.
All concerned citizens, agencies, organizations, and entities are invited to attend and support the First Annual Peace With Purple Vigil on Wednesday, October 21st, at 7 P.M. at the Maverick County Lake Pavilion. Together, we can make a difference.
