Eagle Pass Man commits suicide in Deer Run Subdivision

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced that Juan F. Hernandez, age 60, was found dead by hanging at his residence in Deer Run Subdivision in Eagle Pass, Texas on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. 

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Office preliminary investigation found that Hernandez’s body was found in the rear of his residence without life hanging from a tree with a metal wire, presumably committing suicide. 

Maverick County Justice of the Peace of Precinct 3-AB David Castaneda pronounced Hernandez dead at the scene of the tragedy and ordered an autopsy be performed in accordance with state law. 

Hernandez left no letter or note explaining his drastic decision to take his life and there is no indication as of yet what may have lead him to take his life by hanging himself. 

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation of the death of Hernandez.
