Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Friday, November 6, 2015, 9:12am: An officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to the Highway 57 U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint after Border Patrol Agents detained 30 year old Ignacio Adrian Escareño.

A computer inquiry by Border Patrol Agents at the checkpoint revealed an active warrant issued by the Eagle Pass Police Department for Escareño.

Escareño was arrested on the active warrant which stems from an investigation into the aggravated sexual assault of a child in which Escareño is alleged to being the aggressor.

Escareño was presented before a magistrate and formally charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $60,000 bond.

This case remains under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
