Eagle Pass, TX International Bridge No. 1 temporarily closed due to bomb threat

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas International Bridge No. 1 was temporarily closed to U.S.-Mexico traffic on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 after a bomb threat telephone call was received by the U. S. Customs and Border Protection Office at approximately 4 P.M.
Customs and Border Protection notified their Mexican counterparts and the City of Eagle Pass Police Department and a thorough inspection of International Bridge No. 1 was conducted by U.S. and Mexican authorities. No explosive device was detected and the bridge was reopened at approximately 4:45 P.M. The City of Eagle Pass Fire Department also participated in the inspection of the bridge.
Traffic was heavy at the bridge due to the Thanksgiving holiday as many people were traveling to Mexico to visit family members and many Mexicans traveling into the U.S. to take advantage of the pre-Black Friday retail sales in Eagle Pass.
