Former Maverick County Justice of the Peace Cesar Iracheta pending federal criminal case scheduled for Rearraingment on Nov. 3rd

Former Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 A-B Cesar Iracheta is scheduled to appear for rearraingment and docket call on his pending federal criminal corruption case on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 before U.S. District Judge Alia Moses in Del Rio, Texas.
Iracheta was indicted on two counts of corruption by a federal grand jury in Del Rio, Texas on or about February 18, 2015 and subsequently arrested by FBI agents on February 20th.
Iracheta is charged with paying two bribes to Maverick County Commissioners in order to receive public construction contracts from Maverick County. In 2010, the federal indictment alleges Iracheta, operating as C & A Construction, paid a bribe to a Maverick County Commissioner in order to obtain a public construction contract in Precinct 2 for $49,000 while in 2011 he is alleged to have paid another Maverick County Commissioner a bribe to obtain a public construction contract for $22,500 in Precinct 1.
Iracheta faces up to 10 years in federal prison on each of the two federal bribery charges if found guilty.
Rearraignment is a court hearing to announce to the Court the Defendant’s intention whether to plead Not Guilty or Guilty or whether a continuance of the trial is requested.
A person charged by a federal criminal indictment is presumed innocent until proven guilty by competent evidence in a Court at Law.
