Maverick County Veterans Day Ceremony to be held November 11th

The Maverick County Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8562 will host the 2015 Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maverick County Lake Veterans Memorial Park in Eagle Pass, Texas. The Veterans Day Ceremony is open to all veterans, family members of veterans, local public and business leaders, and the general public. Admission is free.
The keynote speakers who will recognize the sacrifice of Maverick County veterans whom have given and continue to give for their country are Army Sergeant Julio Soliz and Retired Army Major Refugio Soto.
Patriotic music and entertainment will also be provided. Scheduled to perform are the C.C. Winn High School Thundering Mavericks Marching Band, the Cadets of the Texas 92nd Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC), and local singer Jessica Cavazos.
Others participating in the ceremony are VFW Chaplain Rogelio Reyna, VFW Assistant Chaplain Esteban Salas, VFW Service Officers Gary Sapoff, Sammy Lerma, Rafael Chancey, and other local veterans organizations.
Both veterans and public members from the United States and Mexico will attend and participate in the ceremony. American veterans who participated in a foreign war will be honored and recognized during the ceremony. Veterans from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Grenada War, Iraq I & II War, Afghanistan War, and other armed conflicts will be honored for their love and service to their country.
The public is cordially invited to attend and participate in the 2015 Maverick County Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday , November 11th at 11:00 A.M.
The 2015 Maverick County Veterans Day Parade will also be held on Saturday November 7, 2015 beginning at 11:00 am and taking the customary parade route through downtown Main Street.
