Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
(Press Release) An officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division received information from the United States Border Patrol in regards to a vehicle possibly trafficking humans in the area of the catholic cemetery.
The officer encountered the vehicle exiting the cemetery and witnessed a traffic violation which provided probable cause for a traffic stop. An attempt to stop the vehicle was made within the 1100 block of Bibb Street where the vehicle fled after the officer exited his assigned unit. The officer initiated a pursuit which ended when the fleeing blue Dodge Ram 2500 pickup turned into the entrance of the EPHS where it came to a stop. EPISD initiated a “Safe Mode-Lockdown” for safety purposes. Five (5) persons including the driver were detained and turned over to the United States Border Patrol along with the vehicle without any further incident for investigation into possible human trafficking. NO injuries or damages were sustained in any shape or form
