December 14th is Deadline to register as a Political Candidate for 2016

All persons interested in registering as a political candidate for 2016 in a county, state, or federal office have until Monday, December 14, 2015 at 5 P.M. to register as a candidate with their respective political party County Chairman or State Party Office.
Any person interested in registering as a Democratic candidate for a County office in 2016 must do so with Maverick County Democratic Party Chairman Victor E. Perry at 350 N. Monroe Street in Eagle Pass, while any person interested in registering as a Republican candidate for a County office must visit Maverick County Republican Party Chairman Lowell McManus in Eagle Pass.
Among the Maverick County political offices up for election in 2016 include 293rd Judicial District Attorney, currently held by Roberto Serna; Maverick County Sheriff, currently held by Tom Schmerber; Maverick County Attorney, currently held by Ricardo Ramos; Maverick County Commissioner of Precinct 1, currently held by Gerardo “Jerry” Morales; Maverick County Commissioner of Precinct 3, currently held by Pete Venegas, Jr.; Maverick County Tax Assessor-Collector, currently held by Isamari Villarreal-Sanchez; State Representative, District 74, currently held by Poncho Nevarez; Maverick County Constables for Precincts 1, 2, 3-AB, 3-C, and 4; Maverick County Democratic Party Chairman, currently held by Victor E. Perry; Maverick County Republican Party Chairman, currently held by Lowell McManus; State Senator, District 19, currently held by Carlos I. Uresti; U.S. House of Reprentatives, District 23, currently held by Will Hurd; and U.S. Senator for Texas, currently held by John Cornyn.
Other Texas statewide political offices up for election in 2016 include Texas Supreme Court Justices (3 Places); Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ( 3Justices); Fourth Court of Appeals (1 Justice); State Board of Education (8 Places); Railroad Commission of Texas (1 Place); All State Representatives (150 Places); All U.S. House of Representatives (36 Places); State Senators (16 Places); and U.S. Senator (1 Place).
Any person interested in a statewide office must register as a candidate with their respective State Party Office in Austin, Texas.
All U.S. Citizens are eligible to run for political office. Anyone interested in serving their community, county, state, or country are invited to register as a candidate for the political office of their choice.
