Maria Pesina Rodriguez murdered on Christmas Eve by Estranged Husband in Domestic Violence Incident in Eagle Pass, Texas

Eagle Passan Maria Pesina Rodriguez, age 42, was allegedly murdered by her estranged husband, Juan E. Rodriguez Ruiz, age 51, by a gunshot to her body on Christmas eve, December 24, 2015, at approximately 9:45 P.M. at her residence in the 300 Block of Church Street in Eagle Pass, Texas in a domestic/family violence incident.
Juan E. Rodriguez Ruiz has been arrested and charged with homicide by the Eagle Pass Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas Rangers. Rodriguez Ruiz was magistrated and a bond was set at $1 Million. Unable to post bond, Rodriguez Ruiz remains detained at the Maverick County Tom Bowles Detention Center. All persons charged with a criminal offense are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court at Law.
Maria Pesina Rodriguez had sought assistance and protection from domestic/family violence by her estranged husband with local resources. She leaves behind seven children.
The Texas Rangers and the Eagle Pass Police Department Detective Division are investigating the tragic death of Maria Pesina Rodriguez.
Eagle Pass and Maverick County, Texas have a serious domestic/family violence problem in the community which needs to be addressed by a community-wide pro-active strategy.
