The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce announced that it is now accepting nominations for the 2015 “Citizen of the Year” Award. The recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award will be chosen based on outstanding service gratuitously and unselfishly rendered to the community during the year 2015. All nominations submitted must identify the extent of involvement during 2015 of the nominee within the community. Only activities outside a nominee’s regular employment will be considered.
The purpose of the award is to foster the community’s sense of volunteerism by seeking out and honoring an individual who has voluntarily and without compensation contributed in an outstanding and exceptional manner to the betterment of the community and its citizens during 2015.
Past recipients include Romelia Cardona, Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright, Humberto Garza, Roberto Mireles, Enrique Montalvo, Jr., Morris and Dora Libson, Paolo Alcozer, and the Maverick County Junior Livestock Association.
Official nomination forms and guidelines for candidate nominations may be obtained at the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce, located at 400 Garrison Street. The deadline to submit nominations to the Chamber of Commerce is January 25, 2016 at 5 p.m.
