Dylan Sanchez is First Baby Born in Maverick County in 2016

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas and Maverick County began 2016 with welcoming the first baby born in the new year.

Expecting mother Claudia Sanchez went into labor on Friday January 1, 2016 and then gave birth to a healthy 7lb 3 oz boy who was named Dylan Sanchez Pena. Dylan’s birth doctor, Romanus Nwanna, was happy to assist and see Ms. Sanchez through the labor and was glad that the first baby born in 2016 was a sound and healthy baby as well.

Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu stopped by to visit the city’s newest resident and welcomed baby Dylan onto the world and our community.

Mayor Cantu was accompanied by Richard Pratti, Chief Executive Director of the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. Cantu and Pratti presented the happy mother, Claudia Sanchez, various gifts donated by Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center and local merchants to the first baby born in 2016 in Maverick County.
