Honduran Undocumented Female Alien injured by moving train car

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced that on Saturday, January 23, 2016, an undocumented female alien suffered a severe accident and injuries to her right arm as she was attempting to get into a moving railroad train.
Maverick County Sheriff Deputies responded to an emergency call in the Thompson Road area in reference to an injured person near the railroad tracks.
Upon arrival, the officers made contact with agents of the United States Border Patrol, who stated that a female subject had been severely injured as she attempted to get into a moving railroad car.
The female subject was later identified as Johanna Isabel Mejia Iracheta, a citizen of Honduras. Mejia Iracheta suffered severe injuries to her right arm and was transported by ambulance to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. Due to her severe injuries, Mejia Iracheta was airlifted to a San Antonio Medical Center for further treatment of her injuries. Mejia Iracheta is expected to recover from her injuries and later be deported to Honduras.
