Leo Buentello announces Candidacy for Maverick County Commissioner of Precinct No. 1
The Eagle Pass Business Journal has been authorized by Leobardo “Leo” Buentello, Jr. to announce his candidacy for Maverick County Commissioner of Precinct 1 in the Texas Democratic Party Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 and the Early Voting Period during February 16-26, 2016.
Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, I am familiar with the needs and wants of Maverick County Precinct 1 residents and voters. A genuine interest in public service to Maverick County residents has inspired me to seek the public office position of County Commissioner of Precinct No. 1. My interest and concern is only to serve the people of Maverick County, particularly Precinct 1, with independent leadership, organizational skills, and dedicated service above self.
I am not beholden to any political group or interest. I simply want to truly help the people of Maverick County Precinct 1 with their flooding issues, street paving, maintenance, collection of trash, fire and police protection, emergency ambulance service, water and sewer needs, recreation and public parks, creating jobs and growing Maverick County’s economy, and providing equal opportunities to every resident, particularly U.S. Military Veterans. If elected, I like to be a Full-Time County Commissioner dedicating my time and energy to improving Precinct 1 and Maverick County.
I am a graduate of Eagle Pass High School in 1977 and have over 39 years of work experience in local lumber and hardware stores, construction and building trades, military service, and the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.
I am married to Alma Buentello and together have four beautiful children: Graciela, Anna, Doralicia, and Leo III. All of our children have attended local public schools and those whom have already graduated from high school have received college degrees. My parents are the late Leo Buentello, Sr. and Dora Buentello of Eagle Pass, Texas.
Throughout my career, I have learned that discipline, hard work, dedication, public service, living within one’s budget, education, and improving our neighbors’ lives are the most important values to succeeding in today’s world. I plan to use these important values and the invaluable experience I gained from my service to our country and community during the past 39 years to make a positive contribution to the lives of Precinct 1 voters and residents.
I respectfully request Precinct 1 voters and residents your vote and support for my candidacy to become your next County Commissioner of Precinct No. 1 in the Texas Democratic Party Primary Election on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Please remember that the Early Voting Period begins on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 through Friday, February 26, 2016 and the regular election day is on March 1, 2016.
Your Vote is Your Voice. Vote Early. Together, we can make a difference and begin improving Precinct 1 and Maverick County.
