Senator Carlos Uresti Released From Hospital
Senator Carlos Uresti was released from the hospital Wednesday evening following 5 days of treatment. Although the blockage in his neck and some headaches still remain, he is receiving excellent care from doctors who are aggressively treating the tear to his carotid artery. The prognosis is very good and most likely surgery will not be necessary.
“Last week started off with the MLK, Jr. march, followed by a busy week—Thursday at the Capitol, Friday at the courthouse, Saturday morning campaigning—and then that afternoon I unexpectedly ended up in the ER and hospital for the next five days.” said Senator Carlos Uresti
“My message to you is to get a checkup, talk to your doctor about what ails you and encourage your family members to do the same. It could be a game changer for your health and in your life. The Lord was clearly looking over me.” said Uresti
“I am excited about returning back to work this week and look forward to continuing to visit my constituents throughout the 17 counties of District 19. I want to thank everyone for their blessings and their kind messages.” said Uresti
Sen. Uresti represents Senate District 19, which covers more than 35,000 square miles and contains all or part of 17 counties, two international ports of entry, eleven state parks, 51 school districts, 2700 miles of highways, and more than 23,000 producing oil and gas wells in both the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin. The district is larger than 12 states and 82 Nations, and contains over one third of the Texas-Mexico border. Sen. Uresti is proud to serve on the Finance, Natural Resources & Economic Development, Health & Human Services, and Administration Committees. Senator Uresti is the first Senator from San Antonio to serve on the Legislative Budget Board.
