A total of 12 needy families from Eagle Pass and Maverick County, Texas were able to enjoy the Christmas and New Year’s holiday better thanks to the generous work of Warm Hearts, an Eagle Pass Non-Profit led by Karla Trevino Moreno, Head Counselor at Eagle Pass Junior High School, who collected donations of food, clothing, toys, blankets, meals, health check ups, and jackets from local businesses and individuals.
Moreno was assisted by local volunteers, including Rosario Fuentes Snyder and Michael Torralba, both Eagle Pass Independent School Disrict Police Officers, and local high school students Hannah Moreno, Julio Ruiz, Arianna Hernandez, Albert C. Trevino, and Savannah Moreno in distributing the donated goods and meals to local needy families.
Maverick County families were selected based on needs, many of them are victims of recent flooding during October 2015.
Any interested businesses and/or individuals interested in donating goods to the local non-profit Warm Hearts organization may contact Karla Trevino Moreno.
