Jorge Menchaca Arrested and Charged with Aggravated Robbery

Wednesday, February 24, 2016, 1:45pm: 52 year old Jorge Menchaca was presented before a Magistrate after Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigators concluded their investigation and formally charged Menchaca with Aggravated Robbery. The charge originates from an incident reported on February 23, 2016 at 1:12pm in which Menchaca is alleged to have entered Cerna’s Money Exchange on Commercial Street demanding money in a threatening manner. Patrol Officers of the Eagle Pass Police Department apprehended Menchaca within the 100 block of Main Street shortly after committing the robbery. Menchaca was later remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000.00 bond.
