Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Saturday, February 20, 2016, 2:35pm: An officer assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to the J.C. Penny’s store in reference to a reported theft. The investigating officer spoke with loss prevention personnel who informed that two (2) females had been detained after they exited the store past the last point of purchase without making any attempt to pay for several items of clothing concealed in their individual purses. The two (2) females were places under arrest, transported to the police department where they were later presented before a magistrate and each was formally charged with theft over $100 but less than $750. The females were identified as 27 year old Michele Villanueva and 28 year old Veronica Villanueva both of Del Rio, Texas. Michele and Veronica Villanueva were remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $4000 and $3000 bonds respectively.
Sunday, February 21, 2016, 5:49am: Officers assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to a residence on Falcon Boulevard in reference to a domestic disturbance. Investigating officer spoke with a female complainant who informed the officers that the father of her children arrived at the residence in an intoxicated stated and began an argument with the complainant. The argument was said to have become physical to the point that the complainant informed officers that she was allegedly choked by the 26 year old male. Juan Manuel Gil was placed under arrest and presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with the assault of a family member and later remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $12,000 bond. Gil was also discovered to have $467.00 in outstanding City of Eagle Pass warrants which were served prior to his transport to the detention center.
Monday, February 22, 2016, 4:33am: Officers assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to a report of a vehicle rollover within the 1900 block of Main Street. Investigating officers arrived on the scene and discovered a red 2003 Ford F150 resting on its right side. The driver, a 23 year old male showed several signs of intoxication and was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The rollover resulted in the damage of a gas meter and utility pole with unknown estimated cost of damages at the time of report. No injuries were sustained or reported in this incident and the 23 year old male driver is currently pending presentation before a magistrate to be formally charged with driving while intoxicated.
