Luis Alfonso Ruiz announces Candidacy for Maverick County Democratic Party Chair

The Eagle Pass Business Journal has been authorized by Luis Alfonso “Poncho” Ruiz to announce his candidacy for the public position of Maverick County Democratic Party Chair in the March 1, 2016 Texas Democratic Party Primary Election.

Born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, I have developed a genuine interest in public service since my young years as a student in the local public schools and am now seeking your support and vote to get elected as the Maverick County Democratic Party Chair in the upcoming March 1, 2016 Texas Democratic Party Primary Election.

During the past six years, I have had the honor and pleasure to serve you in the Maverick County Democratic Party Executive Committee in several positions, including as Democratic Party Secretary for almost five years and as a member of the Democratic Party Executive Committee. During these six years, I have gained valuable experience in the operation and management of the Maverick County Democratic Party while working with the Executive Committee, including the signing of candidates for political office, the administration of Maverick County elections, and establishing good working relations with the State and National Democratic Parties. I like to use this experience to improve the efficient and proper administration of the Maverick County Democratic Party with all voters, citizens, candidates, and entities.

I also have served as Maverick County Democratic Party Precinct 4B Chair for almost five years. I also have been a candidate for public office, including Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 4 and the Eagle Pass City Council. These experiences have allowed me to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the local Democratic Party. I am genuinely interested in improving and growing our Maverick County Democratic Party.

I respectfully request your vote and support for Maverick County Democratic Party Chair in the March 1, 2016 Primary Election, which commences with Early Voting Period during February 16-26, 2016 at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center and culminates on Election Day on March 1, 2016.

I am independent and not a member of any local political group or faction. The Maverick County Democratic Party Chair requires that the office holder be independent and neutral to maximize the opportunities and progress of all party members as well as be accessible to every person.
