One Woman Killed and Five Injured in Auto Accident in Eagle Pass, Texas

A two automobile collision at the intersection of Loop 480 and U.S. Highway 277 North in Eagle Pass, Texas on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at approximately 10:30 A.M. left one female person dead at the scene of the tragic accident and five persons injured, announced Eagle Pass Police Department.

A red automobile being driven by the deceased female person was traveling on Loop 480 and got off at the U.S. Highway 277 North ramp and attempted to turn onto U.S. 277 North when it was struck by an oncoming Dodge Journey automobile, striking the red sedan on the driver’s side.

The intersection of Loop 480 and U.S. Highway 277 North is near the Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activity Center.

Eagle Pass Fire Deparment Emergency Medical Services ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the accident.  Five persons were transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Eagle Pass Police Department are investigating the fatal accident.

The name of the deceased female has not been identified or released yet, but is believed to be from out of town.
