Six Nominated for Citizen of the Year Award at Chamber Banquet on February 5th

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce received six nominations for its Citizen of the Year Award which will be presented at its 89th Annual Banquet and Meeting on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 7 P.M. at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Sandra Martinez, Executive Director of the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce.
The six nominees for the 2015 Citizen of the Year Award are Raymond De La Garza, Juan Manuel Farias, Vale Moreno, Jr., Morris Libson, Jr., Lt. Mayra Ramos, and Sandra Ruiz-Rodriguez.
The award is presented to an individual who has done outstanding community volunteer work during 2015. Past recipients of the Citizen of the Year Award include Humberto “Beto” Garza, Jr., Roberto Mireles, Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright, Romelia Cardona, Paolo Alcozer, Enrique Montalvo. Jr., Morris and Dora Libson, and others.
Keynote speaker at the 89th Annual Chamber Banquet is nationally recognized oral historian and journalist Tumbleweed Smith, producer of The Sound of Texas.
The Chamber Banquet will also have the President’s Annual Report, installation of new Board of Directors, and other awards to be presented.
