Small Business Administration (SBA) Certification Workshop to be held on February 11th

The Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College Small Business Development Center is hosting a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Certification Workshop on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sul Ross-Rio Grande College Campus, D Building, in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Maricela Brown, Business Training Coordinator at SRSU-RGC SBDC.
The SBA Certifications Workshop is open to all Eagle Pass and surrounding area persons and businesses interested in learning how to get certified in three SBA programs to assist their small businesses grow. The three SBA Certifications to be discussed are Section 8(a), HUBZone, and Women Owned Small Business.
The Section 8(a) Program assists sociall and economically disadvantaged individuals to start, grow, and succeed in their small businesses. The HUBZone Program helps small businessess located in economically distressed urban and rural communities gain access to federal set-aside and sole-source contracts. The Women Owned Small Business Program assists certified Women-Owned Small Businesses receive federal set-aside contracts.
The SBA Workshop is totally free and open to the public. “This is a great opportunity for local business owners to learn how they can grow their small businesses through SBA Certification Programs and federal government contracting opportunities,” said Maricela Brown.
