2016 International Friendship Parade Winners Announced

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2016 International Friendship Festival Parade held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in downtown Eagle Pass, Texas.
Over 75 entries participated and marched in the 2016 International Friendship Festival Parade to the delight and content of spectators, young and old, with thousands enjoying the traditional parade despite a cold and windy day.
Participants from both Mexico and United States shared the stage to entertain the large crowds with the creativity of their floats, bands, dances, and marches under the theme of “Jungle Enchantment.”
The 2016 International Friendship Festival Parade Judges Committee had a difficult task but in the end selected the following entries as winners in their respective categories:
First place in the Float/ Decorated Flat Bed Truck Category went to Kennedy Hall Royal Court; First place in the Decorated Car Category went to Miss Fiestas Patrias: First place in the Decorated Pick Up Truck Category went to Pete Gallego Elementary Lobo Cheer; First place in the Marching Band Category went to the San Antonio Marching Band; First place in the Drill Team Category ( Elementary Level) went to Nellie Mae Glass Elementary; First place in the Drill Team Category (Secondary Level) went to San Luis Cheer Team; First place in the Gymnastics / Sporting Display Category went to Special Needs Kids Cheer & Dance; and the Best In Show in the Parade went to the IBC Bank Float, which best exemplified the “Jungle Enchantment” parade theme.
The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce thanks all the 2016 International Friendship Festival Parade participants and local residents for making it such a great success.
