Anthony Ramirez announces Candidacy for Maverick County Sheriff
Anthony Ramirez has authorized the Eagle Pass Business Journal to announce his candidacy for the Maverick County Sheriff at the November 8, 2016 general election.
Anthony Ramirez was born in 1989 and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, and is the son of Delfina and Apolinar Guadalupe Ramirez. He has four brothers and five sisters. He also has three children.
Ramirez grew up as a migrant where he and his family worked in the agricultural fields in Colorado. Ramirez continued to be a migrant until he joined the military at 17 years old.
Ramirez graduated from the Eagle Independent School District’s Eagle Pass High School in 2008 and enlisted in the United States military (Army) during his junior year in high school. Ramirez continues to serve his country in the military for nine years. While in the military, Ramirez participated in two foreign deployments (tours) to Iraq and Africa.
Ramirez returned back to his beloved community of Maverick County after successfully serving his country in the military. He has decided to serve and protect all Maverick County residents as he did while serving in the Army by running for Maverick County Sheriff.
Ramirez respectfully requests Maverick Countians for their vote in the November 8, 2016 general election for Maverick County Sheriff.
I seek to bring integrity, fairness, and experience to the Office of the Maverick County Sheriff Department and assure that safety programs and awareness play a vital/ important role in the law enforcement community.
“During my years in the military, I have assured the safety and freedom for our country as well people all across the world. I truly believe that public safety is one of the most important parts to a thriving and prosperous community.”
Ramirez states that among the key issues to address and prioritize is safety, training, sufficient officers to assure a secure, peaceful and tranquil community where we all can enjoy the freedoms that he and thousands of soldiers have served their country for.
“A well prepared and trained law enforcement department is vital in assuring the safety of our community as well as our law enforcement officers. ”
“I will assure that all our law enforcement officers are properly trained in risk management, advanced law enforcement tactics, managerial skills, and incorporate courses such as leadership training. I will bring in instructors from the Law Enforcement Supervisors Leadership Training Program and other different instructional courses as well. Another important issue that I will address, if elected, is Management, a key component of a successful operation. When you have a leader that was born to breed other leaders , you don’t have to micro-manage , so much. In fact, If you have multiple leaders you can create a haven , where anyone that comes in can learn how to take care of their management skills. A leader and a manager is somebody that has more work than everybody else, and they know exactly how to do the jobs of the people that are subordinate to them.”
Ramirez states that he will continually bridge the line of communication between the Maverick County, the Eagle Pass Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, the Eagle Pass Independent School District Police Department , Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Law Enforcement Department, the Maverick County Constables Offices, United States Department of Homeland Security, including the United States Border Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, Drug and Enforcement Agency, and other federal agencies.
“ Every law enforcement entity in this community is an important instrument in assuring our safeguard and establishing and bridging our role in community security is necessary in order for all of us as law enforcement officials to assure the peace. “
“My main and most important goal is to keep everyone safe and alive. You never know when a situation will arise where we can be put in danger and if I can save at least one deputy , That is one deputy , whose family and community will not have to worry about grieving for that person.”
“Another thing that I will assure is to have the adequate amount of Deputies to be able to safeguard the entire community and add an equal amount of female deputies to the force, as well. I’m planning on having a minimum of 14 deputies per shift three in each precinct and two to assist with the Kickapoo Tribal police issues.”
“ We need to get back to the sense of civic duty where people will realize that their is such a thing as civilian arrest and people to realize that they can make a change with or without a badge. I think the thing that we need the most right now is being able to stand up for one another instead of dragging each other down. What we need to do is become a brother/sisterhood of a community of people who actually care for one another. People that don’t look at each other and think nothing but malice but instead think I hope his family is alright and if they aren’t then how can I be of help.”
People should not vote in regards to parties . People should vote to who is the one that will fit the position the best. Don’t vote for me just because you know me. Don’t vote for me just because we’re friends. Vote for me because you actually believe that I can make a difference. Vote for the other person because you believe that they can make a difference.
I humbly invite the public to come and vote at the November 8, 2016 General Election for the position of Maverick County Sheriff.
I’m the first and youngest Republican candidate to run for the Maverick County Sheriff position and have the professional experience to carry out the duties and responsibilities that are needed to assure that our law enforcement department is run in the most fair and honest manner to ensure our community’s safety.
