Dr. Marcos A. Trevino, Jr. hired as Ryan White HIV Program Director

Terri Patlan-Contreras, Maverick County Hospital District Chief Executive Officer, announced that Dr. Marcos A. Trevino, Jr. was hired as the new Ryan White HIV Program for the local hospital district. Dr. Marcos A. Trevino, Jr. received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Baylor University.
Dr. Trevino will oversee the Ryan White HIV Program at the Maverick County Hospital District, located at the Medical Office Building at 3406 Bob Rogers Drive, Suite 280 on the Second Floor that serves nine counties, including Maverick County, Uvalde County, Val Verde County, Real County, Kinney County, La Salle County, Dimmit County, Edwards County, and Zavala County.
“I am confident that Dr. Trevino will manage and direct our program successfully and will be a great addition to our hospital district’s management team. I am very excited to welcome Dr. Trevino into our medical community and to the hospital district,” said Patlan-Contreras.
“He has extensive clinical education, knowledge, and is well prepared to develop and monitor our grant program services, budget, and reporting as required to our Administrative Agency, Brazos Valley Council of Government and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Dr. Trevino is a native of Eagle Pass, Texas and his return has been well received in our community. “I am confident that he will be an active member of the community and that will be apparent in the coming months,” added Patlan-Contreras.
Dr. Trevino has extensive clinical experience, including as a research assistant and social case management services through the Baylor University Study Abroad Program at Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. Dr. Trevino completed rotations in Internal Medicine at the Hospital Angel Leano, Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. He furthered his medical work experience completing an Internship at Hospital General Regional de Zona #21, Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. Dr. Trevino finalized his Mexican Government requirement to become a medical doctor by completing his service year at Centro de Salud, Nava, Coahuila, Mexico. With his clinical training, Dr. Trevino is prepared to evaluate the client’s condition and more than capable to oversee the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. He will work with other local community-based service organizations and health providers to provide the much needed services, education, and outreach to our clients/patients and help them get health care coverage or financial resources to cope with HIV disease.
