Second Annual Fishermen of God Golf Tournament Seeks Golfers
(Press Release) The Fishermen of God Corporation (FOG) has announced that the 2nd Annual FOG Golf Tournament will be held on April 30th, 2016 at the Eagle Pass Golf Course. All proceeds from the tournament will go towards the CAPITAL FUND that has been established by the Fishermen of God Corporation for the construction of a retreat center in Maverick County.
Last year’s golf tournament event attracted fifty-two (52) golfers from Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Crystal City, Dallas, Piers Negras and Monclova. This year the goal is to attract 72 golfers from area communities, including Mexico. All interested golfers are encouraged to call Mr. Raul Perez at 776-3148 or Mr. Adolfo Lozano at 968-0600 to sign up for the tournament. The cost of registration is $170.
Additionally, any local businesses or individuals interested in participating as sponsors for this tournament are encouraged to contact Mr. Perez or Mr. Lozano. The cost of sponsorships are as follows:
Bronze (Sponsorship of 1 Hole)……….$500
Silver (Sponsorship of 2 Holes)……….$1,000
Gold (Sponsorship of O’yeas Holes)…$2,000
The Fishermen of God Corporation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit entity that is qualified to receive tax deductible contributions. The mission of the Fishermen of God Corporation is to improve the lives of people through religious activities and retreats that foster greater community involvement, a richer family life and encourage the development of ministries and services in the various churches. The corporation is also committed to providing educational activities for young people to enhance their spiritual growth. Through these retreats, the organization seeks to strengthen the community’s foundation by the promotion of moral and human values.
One of the major goals of the corporation is to establish a regional retreat center in Maverick County that would attract retreat groups from around the South Texas area. The corporation is guided by a seven member volunteer board of directors.
