Uvalde Phi Theta Kappa chapter holds spring induction, adds 32 new members
Uvalde, Texas – The Eta Beta Chapter of the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa inducted 32 new members this spring at Southwest Texas Junior College during a ceremony held on March 3 in Uvalde.
New members inducted include Seth Andres, Bobby Arambula, Nicole Arambula, Yazmin Avila, Tiffany Benavides, Chantal Bowser, Stephanie Bullard, Brian Bustamante, Talia Chavez, Marissa Diaz, Jennifer Dong, Jessica Dong, Victor Doria, Karina Garay, Alysa Gauna and Bianca Gauna.
Also inducted were, Emily Guajardo, Jason Hernandez, Christina Janca, Tonye Neal, Miguelina Olivarez, Vanessa Orosco, Alyssa Prado, Miranda Ramirez, Nyssa Rodriguez, Soraida Rodriguez, Emmitt Samarripa, Elizabeth Segura, Alberto Soliz, Michaela Stefan, Darian Torres and Cheyenne Walker.
SWTJC President Hector Gonzales, Ph.D., welcomed guests to the fall induction ceremony.
Current Eta Beta Chapter members participating in the ceremony were Ryan Alldritt, Christopher Martinez, Jemi Edwards, Lawrence Summers, Elijah Evans and Shannon Gammill.
To earn membership in Phi Theta Kappa, students must have completed at least 12 semester hours with at least a 3.5 GPA. Students must also be currently enrolled in at least six hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain members in good standing.
A reception for inductees and their families was held in the Matthews Student Center immediately following the ceremony.
