The Vagina Monologues to be Presented April 14-15th in Eagle Pass
V- Day Eagle Pass, a non-profit group, cordially invites the community to attend their rendition of “The Vagina Monologues,” an episodic play written by Eve Ensler. The Vagina Monologues will be presented on April 14 and 15, 2016, starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 462 N. Adams Street in Eagle Pass, Texas. Tickets for the event will be sold at $15 per person or $20 dollars at the door; the organization may also be contacted through their Facebook page, V-Day Eagle Pass.
All funds collected will be donated to the Winter Garden Women’s Shelter, which is a victim’s rights advocacy group whose programs provide temporary emergency shelter for women who have experienced domestic violence/abuse, and for their children. Services provided include in-house individual, group and family counseling and the full range of secondary services related to domestic violence, including referral to appropriate resources.
The Vagina Monologues is made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience, touching on matters such as sex, love, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the various common names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.
The Vagina Monologues is a must see production for all mature women and men. Don’t miss it. Purchase your tickets now.
