Former Maverick County Commissioner, Eagle Pass ISD School Board Member, and Eagle Pass City Council Member Eduardo “Eddie” Sandoval passes away

Former Maverick County Commissioner, Eagle Pass Independent School District School Board of Trustee, and City of Eagle Pass Council Member Eduardo “Eddie” Sandoval, age 56, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at a San Antonio, Texas hospital.
Sandoval was publicly elected to three local governmental entities’ boards during his public service career, including the Eagle Pass Independent School District, the City of Eagle Pass, and Maverick County. He also served as the Supervisor of the Maverick County Road and Bridge Department.
Sandoval served on the Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees. His dates of service were unavailable as of press time.
Sandoval was elected as an Eagle Pass City Council Member on June 11, 1996 and served until May 5, 1998.
Sandoval was elected as Maverick County Commissioner in November of 1998 and served one term as Commissioner from January of 1999 to December of 2002.
Sandoval graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 1978 and St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree.
Memorial Funeral Chapels is handling his funeral arrangements, including viewing on Tuesday, May 17th, from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:30 P.M. and on Wednesday, May 18th from 8 A.M. to 10:45 A.M., mass at 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 18th, and interment at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church following mass.
