Former Maverick County Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales to be sentenced May 24, 2016

Former Maverick County Commissioner of Precinct 3 Jose Luis Rosales is scheduled to be sentenced for bribery and receiving kickback payments on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11 A.M. by United States District Judge Alia Moses for the Western District of Texas, Del Rio Division, in Del Rio, Texas.
Rosales plead guilty to a federal indictment charging him with bribery and receiving kickbacks from contractors after an FBI investigation uncovered massive corruption in the awarding of public construction contracts of Maverick County, Texas.
The FBI investigation also snared former Maverick County Commissioners Rudy Heredia, Eliaz Maldonado, and Cesar Flores for bribery and receiving kickbacks from contractors in exchange for awarding them public construction contracts. Former Maverick County Commissioners Heredia, Maldonado, and Flores plead guilty and each received a 10 year sentence in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Alia Moses.
Over 30 persons have been indicted and/or pleaded guilty as a result of the FBI investigation concerning bribery and corruption in Maverick County.
