Gabriel Garcia, Yolanda Lopez Mauricio, and Juan Manuel Garcia, Jr. Elected to Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Board of Directors

The Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (MCWCID No. 1) elected two new Board of Directors and re-elected another Board of Director in their May 7, 2016 Board of Directors election, announced Cynthia Martinez, General Manager of the Maverick County Water Control and Improvenment District No. 1.

Elected as new Board of Directors were Gabriel Garcia with 89 votes (high vote getter) and Juan Manuel Garcia, Jr. with 65 votes while incumbent Board of Director Yolanda Lopez Mauricio was re-elected with 83 votes.  Also receiving votes but not elected were Juan Perez, Jr. With 61 votes, Guadalupe Cardona with 40 votes, and John Earl Smith with 33 votes.

MCWCID No. 1 Board President Travis Kelly and Secretary-Treasurer Marcelino Perez did not seek re-election after a long distinguished public service career on the board.  Kelly served a total of 14 years on the MCWCID No. 1 Board while Marcelino Perez served 16 years on the board.

The newly elected and re-elected MCWCID No. 1 Board of Directors will be sworn-in on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the MCWCID No. 1 regular board meeting at 5 P.M. at the District’s office located at 1622 Maverick County Industrial Board, Radar Base, in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Outgoing MCWCID No. 1 Board President Travis Kelly and Secretary-Treasurer Macelino Perez will attend and preside at their final board meeting.
