Venezuela Featured at Pan American Roundtable Meeting
(Press Release). Pan American member, Susan Villanueva, on May 7, 2016, presented members with a report on Venezuela. Venezuela is a land that contains some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, including beaches, jungle and the Amazon. Over 40 different languages are spoken there. The main language is Spanish but there are 30 indigenous languages. Villanueva reported on the political history of Venezuela, now a socialist government that took from the rich and divided it amongst the poor. All went well in Venezuela when their focus was the oil industry, but the country is now on the brink of economic crisis, according to Villanueva. Villanueva noted that Venezuela imports most of its food and other necessities from other countries, so the cost of living is high. Venezuela does score high on the number of young women who have won major international beauty pageants. Everyone enjoyed the report on Venezuela presented by Villanueva.
