Eagle Pass ISD Board Approves Early College Academy
(Press Release) Superintendent of Eagle Pass Independent School District, Gilberto Gonzalez, is pleased to announce in conjunction with Southwest Texas Junior College the approval of Eagle Pass Independent School District’s Early College Academy.
On June 14, 2016 at Eagle Pass ISD’s Regular Board meeting, the School Board unanimously approved the moving forward with the Early College Academy.
The Early College Academy’s main goal is to provide an opportunity to incoming EPISD freshmen at both Eagle Pass High School and C. C. Winn High School to earn 60 semester credit hours or an Associate of Arts degree while earning a high school diploma with an endorsement and a distinguished level of achievement.
In addition to the Early College Academy, EPISD will also have two magnet programs; EPISD Engineering Academy and EPISD Health Sciences Academy. The purpose of the two magnet programs is to provide advanced skills for competitive wages in high demand Engineering and Health Science careers.
