Eagle Pass Man Arrested for Aggravated Robbery
(Press Release) On Monday, July 11, 2016, at 2:23am, officers assigned to the Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to an alleged assault within the 2400 block of Main Street.
Investigating officers were informed by a 19 year old male complainant that he had been approached by three (3) known male individuals while walking within the 2400 block of Main Street. The complainant informed officers that one of the known males brandished an unknown type handgun towards him and told him to give him his money. The complainant informed officers he refused the assailants order at which time he alleges he was struck in the head by the assailant causing a laceration. The complainant informed officers he turned over his wallet which contained approximately $200.00 in cash as well as assorted personal documents and identifications and the known males fled on foot. The complainant was provided with medical assistance and a perimeter search was conducted for the assailant and the two other individuals.
The assailant and one other individual were located in the area by patrol officers a short time later and detained.
On Monday July 11, 2016, 18 year old Santiago Guajardo Jr. was presented before a magistrate where he was provided with his constitutional rights and formally charged with aggravated robbery. Guajardo was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $75000.00 bond.
