Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Charter Bus Engine catches on fire with passengers on board

A Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino private charter bus engine caught on fire loaded with passengers on board late afternoon on Monday, September 5, 2016 , in Eagle Pass, Texas on Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas-owned Tierra Soberana Road, causing an evacuation of the passengers from the interior of the bus.
Approximately 20-25 passengers were on board the casino charter bus owned, operated, and/or leased by Leo’s Tours of San Antonio, Texas.
Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS ambulances and fire fighting truck and Kickapoo Traditional Trible of Texas Tribal Police Department personnel responded to the bus engine fire and safely evacuated the passengers. No injuries to passengers were reported as of press time.
The charter bus engine fire was attributed to a mechanical engine matter.
Passengers were offered a complimentary night at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel and free transportation to San Antonio, Texas by the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino management.
On May 14, 2016, another Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino charter bus rolled over on U.S. Highway 83 North in Webb County, Texas, killing eight people and injuring 44 additional people. A wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas, Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, the Charter Bus Company, and Bus Driver in McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas as a result of this fatal accident.
